Off on a Disney Cruise!

Everyone has heard of Disney World and various other Disney theme parks across the world. But far fewer people have heard of the Disney Cruise Line. As a family we went on our first Disney cruise in August 2016 and we now like to mix up a holiday with both parks and cruise. This year is slightly different as we are not heading over to Florida. Instead we have driven down to Dover and are about to embark on a Northern European cruise on the Disney Magic.

Previously we have sailed on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasty – sister ships and the biggest in the fleet. This time we are sailing on the Disney Magic which, along with her sister ship the Disney Wonder, is the smaller class of ships.

I will try and blog as we sail though wifi and data will be patchy at times. This is my 6th cruise which means it is our first as Gold Castaway Club members (their rewards programme). Joining us for their first Disney cruise are my parents.

Pull up a chair

Hi, and pull up a chair – or a bean bag, there’s a few of those in the corner over there.

I’m Helen and I am an unashamed Disney fan. So much so that one of my nicknames at work is ‘Disney’. I’m the person that friends and family turn to for advice on visiting WDW (Walt Disney World).  I kept being told that I should set up a business advising people. Well, I’m not going to do that, but I do love talking about going to Disney, as ALL things Disney, so I thought why not set up a page where I can do that.

I first visited WDW in 1994 after university and had the most amazing time. Only two years earlier I’d returned to the love of Disney that I’d had as a child with the release of ‘Beauty and the Beast’.  Nearly 20 years, one husband, and two kids later, I returned to WDW in Oct 2012. The plan was to take the children on a ‘once in a life time’ trip. They were 8 and 5. It was as amazing as I had remembered and the children were in awe of everything.

As with a lot of people this ‘once in a life time’ trip turned out to be anything but. We returned in 2014 and have been back every year since then. We have stayed off site, on site, become DVC members, had an Annual Pass, and recently discovered the Disney Cruise line.

So here I am with my own site to talk about my favourite subject – Disney!  Feel free to ask any questions, and if there is something you want me to write about then just say.
